COURSE INFORMATION

Course overview
  • Explore various 3D and 2D animation and modelling techniques and how to produce digital artwork and assets.
  • Use industry standard software and hardware in a studio environment such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Produce concept art in various styles.
  • Design and produce in game playable assets such as weapons, vehicles and characters.
  • Production of 2D and 3D digital graphics
  • Understanding how to use game engines and create playable levels and games.
Entry Requirements
  • A minimum of four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • For students without a Grade 4, or above, in English and Maths, you will need to resit these qualifications at LMA.
  • Digital portfolio
Proression Routes

After the Post-16 course, students can progress via many different routes.

The following are examples of what students may go on to do:

  • Study for a BA Hons Degree here at LMA or at another university
  • Further specialist training
  • Employment in the games industry

The post 16 BTEC Extended Diploma in Digital Games Art is a two year course that involves studying and implementing a range of techniques specifically for the gaming industry.The course acts as a technical foundation so that by the end of their two year study, students will have a sophisticated set of skills that will enable them to specialise as they move into higher education or into industry.
