At LMA we are committed to offering our students an unparalleled insight into the creative industries.

In addition to our tutors, who are all experienced industry professionals, we host high profile faces from the worlds of film, theatre, music, gaming and animation to deliver special masterclasses here at LMA.

Global superstar Robbie Williams, actors Imelda Staunton, Nia Peeples, Stephen Graham, David Morrissey and Johnny Vegas, musical theatre royalty Kerry Ellis, acclaimed film director Ken Loach and Hollywood animator John Hughes are among those who have spent time with LMA students.

Masterclasses give our guests a chance to tell fascinating stories from their stellar careers and share valuable advice about their industries, giving students the opportunity to engage with them and ask questions of some of the leading figures in their field.

And the stars also enjoy the experience and the enthusiastic LMA welcome they receive.

Studying at LMA opens up a world of exciting experiences both through the courses on offer and also outside the institution too.

LMA’s close links with key figures in the entertainment industry mean our undergraduates are in an ideal position to take advantage of relevant opportunities.

Recent opportunities include five Film & TV graduates starting full-time contracts working on a major production with Netflix and LMA actors being cast in the award-winning Jimmy McGovern TV series Broken, starring alongside Sean Bean.

And the LMA Choir, made up of both past and present students, was selected as one of Robbie Williams’ final four acts on The X Factor in 2018, with them taking to the stage during the live shows. Having built a strong connection with the choir, he then invited them to perform with him at his sold-out British Summer Time concert at Hyde Park in July 2019.

A number of our Games Art and Animation undergraduates attended the 2019 BAFTA Games Awards, which celebrate the outstanding creative achievement in the British video games industry.
